ASA Advocacy Prize to Become an Annual Award
The Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) is pleased to announce that the ASA Advocacy Prize will become an annual award.
Established in 2010, the ASA Advocacy Prize recognises individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to international arbitration through their advocacy. The most recent Prize was awarded to Jern-Fei KC at the Swiss Arbitration Summit 2026 in Geneva. By moving to an annual award cycle, ASA will be able to recognise outstanding achievements in the field every year.
Andrea Meier, President of ASA, commented:
“Since its inception, the ASA Advocacy Prize has recognised individuals whose advocacy excellence has made a meaningful contribution to international arbitration. By making the Prize an annual award, we reaffirm ASA’s commitment to promoting the highest standards of advocacy and to celebrating those who exemplify professionalism, integrity and respect in our field. Through this Prize, we not only honour individual achievement but also highlight the values that strengthen confidence in arbitration as a trusted means of resolving international disputes.”
Advocacy Prize Nomination Steering Committee commented:
“The transition of the ASA Advocacy Prize to an annual award is a welcome recognition of the strong support and enduring popularity it has enjoyed since its inception in 2010, as well as of its unique status in the field of international arbitration.”
Call for Nominations Open
ASA invites members of the arbitration community to submit nominations for the ASA Advocacy Prize 2027. The deadline for submissions is 14 August 2026.
The next ASA Advocacy Prize will be presented during the Gala Dinner of the Swiss Arbitration Summit 2027, taking place on 21 January 2027 at the Kongresshaus Zurich.
To nominate a candidate, please send the candidate’s name, affiliated firm or organisation, and any supporting information to membership@swissarbitration.org.
Nominations should explain why the candidate deserves recognition for outstanding advocacy in international commercial arbitration, where possible by reference to the skills outlined in the ASA Charter of Advocacy in International Commercial Arbitration. Concrete examples are encouraged and will assist the selection process.
