Ambassadors on the go: Spain
Launched in 2023, the Swiss Arbitration Ambassador Programme continues to connect Switzerland with arbitration communities around the world. Under the leadership of Co-chairs Niklaus Zaugg, Benjamin Gottlieb, and with newly joined Juliette Asso (with thanks to Flavio Peter for his dedication over the past three years), the programme brings together a network of ambassadors committed to promoting Swiss Arbitration and fostering international collaboration.
Ambassadors for Spain, Marco Vedovatti (Bratschi) and Elena Sevila (5Gambit Disputes), are working to further deepen ties between the Swiss and Spanish arbitration communities. With Madrid hosting the 27th ICCA Congress from 12–15 April 2026, the moment is ideal to highlight these efforts.
To mark the occasion, our ambassadors will host a reception on 13 April 2026 at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum, one of Madrid’s most iconic cultural landmarks. The gathering will bring together in-house counsel, practitioners, and industry experts to share insights and connect across markets.
Marco Vedovatti explains:
“Spanish companies have positioned themselves among the main users of international arbitration. As Swiss Ambassadors for Spain, we want to help consolidate a bridge between our two dynamic and thriving markets and arbitration communities and promote Swiss arbitration as the right choice for Spanish businesses operating internationally.”
Elena Sevila adds:
“In a context where Spanish businesses are increasingly engaged in complex cross-border disputes, strengthening links between leading arbitration jurisdictions is both timely and valuable. As ASA Ambassadors for Spain, we seek to facilitate informed dialogue, promote the exchange of expertise, and support initiatives that reinforce collaboration and innovation within both arbitration communities.”
While Madrid gathers the international arbitration community for the congress, the Swiss–Spanish arbitration dialogue will also be part of the conversation. As Spanish companies continue to rely heavily on international arbitration and Switzerland strengthens its position with a modern and flexible arbitration framework, opportunities for collaboration between the two communities are growing.
Through the Swiss Arbitration Ambassadors, we transform efforts into meaningful connections — one event, and one city at a time. Initiatives like these highlight Swiss Arbitration’s core values of neutrality, efficiency, and legal reliability while strengthening its global presence.
