International Practice and Vietnamese Law: Comparative Perspectives on Construction Disputes

Caravelle I, Level 3 Caravelle Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City Location
8 Apr, 2026

Swiss Arbitration is pleased to invite you to an upcoming event organised by our Swiss Arbitration Ambassador to Vietnam, Thang Pham, taking place on 8 April 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City.

This session, titled “Comparative Perspectives on Construction Disputes: International Practice and Vietnamese Law”, will bring together leading practitioners to examine how key contractual concepts in construction disputes are interpreted across jurisdictions.

Focusing on widely used international standard-form contracts such as FIDIC, the panel will explore complex issues including delay and liquidated damages, multi-tier dispute resolution clauses, force majeure, fundamental changes of circumstances, and non-contractual liabilities. Particular attention will be given to how these concepts are applied and enforced under Vietnamese law, especially in light of the recently adopted Construction Law 2025.

The discussion will feature insights from experienced arbitration and construction practitioners across multiple jurisdictions, including:

  • Thang Pham (YKVN Singapore, ASA Ambassador)
  • Mino Han (Peter & Kim)
  • Lesley Tan (WongPartnership)
  • Alain Grieder (Schellenberg Wittmer)

Programme:

  • 08:30 – 09:00 Registration
  • 09:00 – 10:30 Panel Discussion
  • 10:30 – 11:00 Networking

This event is kindly supported by Schellenberg Wittmer, Peter & Kim, WongPartnership, and YKVN Singapore.
