During the IBA Annual Conference 2026 in Copenhagen, the Swiss Arbitration Centre is pleased to support “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Swiss-Danish Reflections on Arbitrator Behaviour”, organised in partnership with the Danish Institute of Arbitration and Kromann Reumert. The panel will take place on 8 October 2026 from 15:30 – 17:30 at the offices of Kromann Reumert in Copenhagen.

Arbitrators are expected to combine legal expertise with sound judgment, neutrality and effective case management. Yet the distinction between an outstanding arbitrator and an average, or even problematic, one often lies in conduct rather than qualifications. This session will bring together leading arbitration practitioners to explore the behaviours that inspire confidence in a tribunal and those that may undermine it.

The discussion will feature:

  • Nadja Jaisli Kull (Bär & Karrer, Zurich)
  • Sébastien Besson (LKK Arbitration, Geneva)
  • Frank Bøggild (Kromann Reumert, Copenhagen)

The panel will be moderated by Nina Lauber-Thomessen (Independent Arbitrator, Geneva), one of Swiss Arbitration’s Nordic Ambassadors.

Following the discussion, participants are invited to continue the conversation and network “the Swiss-Danish way” with colleagues from across the international arbitration community.
