Arbitration Without Borders: Do Legal Cultures Still Matter?
The Swiss Arbitration Ambassadors for Brazil, Caroline dos Santos, Joaquim Muniz, Leonardo Ohlrogge, and Ernandes Ramos, are pleased to invite you to “Arbitration Without Borders: Do Legal Cultures Still Matter?”, taking place on 23 June 2026 at Schellenberg Wittmer in Geneva from 18:30 – 19:45.
Co-hosted with LATAP (Latin American Arbitration Practitioners), this event will bring together leading arbitration practitioners from Europe and Latin America to explore whether legal cultures continue to shape international arbitration in an increasingly globalised environment.
As arbitrators, counsel, and parties routinely operate across jurisdictions, languages, and legal traditions, questions remain as to whether legal culture still influences advocacy, procedural expectations, and decision-making, or whether international arbitration has developed its own common language.
The discussion will be moderated by Caroline dos Santos (Baker McKenzie) and feature a distinguished panel comprising:
- Ana Gerdau de Borja (Citadelle Disputes, Paris)
- Karina Goldberg (FCDG Advogados, Brazil)
- Martin Molina (Kellerhals Carrard, Zurich)
- Sebastian Coulon-Bauer (Schellenberg Wittmer, Zurich)
The session will take place from 17:00 to 18:30 and will be followed by an apéro, offering participants the opportunity to continue the conversation and connect with members of the Swiss and Latin American arbitration communities.
A special thank you to Schellenberg Wittmer for hosting the event.
We look forward to welcoming you to Geneva for what promises to be an engaging discussion on one of the enduring questions of international arbitration.
