3 Jul, 2025

On 3 July 2025, the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), the Association Française d’Arbitrage (AFA), the Ordre des Avocats de Genève, and the Barreau de Paris are pleased to co-organise a full-day French-language conference at the Maison du Barreau in Paris:

“Les places d’arbitrage de Paris et Genève : Actualités et perspectives d’avenir.”

This timely event will bring together leading arbitration experts and practitioners to explore the evolving roles of Paris and Geneva as key arbitration hubs. The day’s programme will include panel discussions on:

  • The form and reach of arbitration clauses
  • The effectiveness of investment arbitration
  • The duty of disclosure: transparency and impartiality
  • The approach to public policy and international sanctions

The event will conclude with a forward-looking roundtable on the future of arbitration in Paris and Geneva — asking whether these centres are in competition or complementarity, and addressing issues such as the French reform project, the use of third-party funding, cost reduction, and the role of hearing centres.

🗣 Conference language: French

The day will conclude with a cocktail reception.

This conference promises to be a rich forum for discussion and exchange, strengthening ties between the Paris and Geneva arbitration communities.
