The Swiss Arbitration Centre is Switzerland’s leading commercial arbitration institution with offices in Zurich and Geneva. The case management team administers around 150 cases under the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration, the Swiss Rules of Mediation, as well as the Rules of Mediation Procedure for Financial Services. The cases are administered in English, French, German and Italian.

The Centre is affiliated to the Swiss Arbitration Association (Association Suisse de l’Arbitrage, ASA), an association seated in Geneva, with over 1’000 members in Switzerland and abroad. Since around 50 years, ASA has been promoting domestic and international arbitration as well as alternative dispute resolution.
Arbitration and alternative dispute resolution offer an international and challenging work environment, requiring high professionalism, versatility and flexibility.
We offer you a permanent, full or part-time position in an international team in our office located in central Zurich. Your varied tasks will include:

  • You will organise, maintain and archive the case files for about 50 arbitration and mediation cases in English and German.
  • You will prepare and send written correspondence with parties, legal representatives and arbitrators.
  • You will check procedural time limits and prepare next procedural steps.
  • You will answer telephone enquiries about ongoing cases and general enquiries.
  • You will regularly check incoming payments and prepare outgoing payments in pending cases. Also, you will prepare overviews regarding the financial aspect of the case files.

You will organise the office and occasional professional meetings.
This will be done in close cooperation with the Legal Counsel responsible for the administration of arbitration and mediation cases under the direction of the Executive Director.

Your qualifications & skills include:

  • A commercial apprenticeship, equivalent certificate of achievement or Matura, ideally professional experience as a legal assistant or as a secretary at a court; experience abroad is an advantage.
  • Confident German and very good written and spoken English; other language skills are an advantage.
  • Very good computer skills (MS Office).
  • Diligence and accuracy in all matters. Ability to prioritise.
  • Reliability and sense of responsibility.
  • Independence and initiative combined with the ability to work in a team.
  • Strong service orientation and courtesy.
