Swiss Arbitration for Japanese Corporations

Tokyo, 7 September 2017, 16:00 - 21:00.

Swiss Arbitration for Japanese Corporations.

Advantages of choosing Switzerland as the Seat for Arbitration and the Swiss Rules.

International conference organized jointly by the University of Zurich, the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan, the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (SCCIJ),  the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), and the Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution (SCAI).

Switzerland is one of the preferred venues for international arbitration, partly because of its long tradition, partly because of its unique features. This conference will focus on such features: the popular settlement facilitation offered by Swiss arbitral tribunals to the parties at an early stage of the proceedings; the current governmental project to render the already very liberal arbitration act even more user-friendly; and the Swiss Chambers' efficient Swiss Rules of International Arbitration, which will be made available in a Japanese version.
